Other facts: Ashley lives on a small ranch with her brother and her father. They own many horses but only one is her own. Her mother died when she was really young.
Ashley woke up. This would be her first year at high school. She put on one of her favorite shirts and put on her skinny jeans. She brushed her long, light brown, curly hair and then went down her stairs. After she ate, she finished up her hair and put on some makeup. The bus finally arrived and she stepped onto it.

Ashley walked down the bus. She took a seat by herself since all her friends either drove or took a different bus. She looked out the window. This day was starting off pretty good so far. She pushed her light brown hair, which had blonde streaks in it, behind her ear.

Ashley looked at the girl, slightly surprised by her presence. "Nothing really." Ashley said, which was mostly true. Her light brown hair seemed to be more blonde than brown as she spoke. "I'm Ashley." She said, figuring that she should introduce herself.

"I'm new here." Ashley said as she pushed her curly hair behind her ear. Blue eyes gleaming, she smiled a little.

"I used to live in Texas. When my father lost one of his best horses he said we had to move to a smaller ranch." Ashley said as she looked at Artemis. "We moved here last week." She added as she once again pushed her hair behind her ear,

"We have a few new horses now. But the one he had was what paid for us to stay there. It was a great stallion. It ran very fast and never seemed to get tired." Ashley thought back on her father's horse. "I even have my own horse." Ashley added as she thought of the small ranch that she now lived on.

Ashley looked at Matt but then returned her gaze to Artemis. "You have horses too?" Ashley asked, in a tone that showed she knew the answer.

"Sure!" Ashley said. "We only have a couple horses left now that we sold our ranch." Ashley said sadly. She got to pick one foal to keep as her own. That's the horse that she still has now.

Ashley went over to her locker. Trying to remember her combination, she put it in. Her locker didn't open. With a sigh, she tried again. Once again, it didn't open. She tried again and then it finally opened. With a sigh of relief, she started to take some of her stuff out. She looked at the mirror. Her loose light brown curls were perfectly in place. The little makeup she had on seemed to make her eyes glow even more. Grabbing her phone from her jean pocket, she looked at it. No texts. She put her phone back into her pocket and then walked off.
